Given all of the divisions in this country, I was thinking people who have not seen “On the Basis of Sex” should watch it. For those who don’t know, this is the life story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I’m sure she is not one of the favorite Justices on the Supreme Court. But I think people, especially women, should see how much work she has done for women’s rights outside abortion. She basically was the driving force behind the dismantlement of laws that directly discriminating against women. Sometimes we seem to get bogged down in the same repetitive issues, but I think it is important to look at the work of a person that was done for the good of practically all.

On the Basis of Sex is a great movie. It’s a dramatization and conflates some things and take some liberties with others. The documentary RBG is a great complementary movie to watch either before or after On the Basis of Sex.

All of us American females owe RBG a great debt of gratitude.

Her position on abortion is unfortunate. But her body of work on women’s equality is amazing and praise worthy.

I have not seen the movie yet, but I would be interested in doing so. Though I disagree with Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s position on a number of issues, I admire her life and like her as a person. For a very delightful interview with RBG at her home (from 2016), see Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Speaks

I think she is an admirable person and a fine Justice. I agree with some of her positions, disagree with others, but have much respect for her skills (much more than some of the other female Justices though I won’t name names).

She and Justice Scalia were close personal friends. That to me speaks well of both of them, that they found common ground and enjoyed each others’ company quite a bit despite their considerable differences of opinion.

I don’t need to watch a fictionalized movie on her. I already know the story of her life, but would watch a documentary like “Biography” or similar.

It’s not really fictional, it’s more autobiographical. She had substantial (name removed by moderator)ut on the movie.

Her continuing support for abortion has made her culpable for the deaths of millions.

What good she may have done won’t scrub away the blood and tears of so many who just wanted a chance to live.

She just made another no sense decision on a cross down in Maryland. She uses her seat for pleasing pop culture first and Constitution second.

Yes, at best autobiographical, which by definition means it lacks objectivity. It might be a great movie, I would not use it to make many judgements about how wonderful RBG had been.

Imagine a movie about, say Clarence Thomas, and he was known to have provide substantial (name removed by moderator)ut to the movie. Just guessing the attitude towards the movie’s accuracy would be a little different. People would not assume it is accurate.

This “feminist” and pioneer narrative is getting old with her. It is literally an attempt to rewrite history. The amount of people who think she overall was a redeeming person ignoring the millions of FEMALES she supported denying not only equality but the simple right to breath in the same world as someone else is sick. Not to mention the women she has helped brainwash to become killers. And the old “ignorance” argument carries no water. She is hardly ignorant on life issues. Her abortion position and advocacy is (I know Godwins law is overused and i apologize for not being more eloquent) so Hitler like it astonishes me how her supporters cant or wont see the evil.
