I have been discerning a religious vocation. I now have a spiritual director so this should help. I tend to be mystical in my faith and desire an order where they view God as their spouse. My hearts desire is to be in mystical union with God. I can not decide on what type of community to approach. I would like a community that wears the habit. I have worked with the elderly my whole life so I could see myself doing this in a community. I need a community that values time in Adoration, the Eucharist, personal prayer and the rosary. I am 46 and live in Kentucky. I have a desire to work with the poor, the elderly, and women who have been in human trafficking or social justice. If possible a place that would let me have a small dog. But I know that is asking a lot 😉 So, anyways, just throwing this out to people and ask for prayer and any advice. thank you and God bless!

I know of a new Charism emerging in the Covington area. They will Minister to nursing home patients, and go so far as to allow them to become members. The Foundress has the Bishop’s blessing, and they are following her through the process. They are Benedictine in Spirituality.

The Dominican Sisters of Peace have a house in Springfield. Not sure about the Adoration, but that house in particular has the Sansbury Care Center.

Seems like what you’ve described exists in Mexico, though.

Blessings,
Mrs Cloisters OP

You might want to look into these two communities:
The Little Sisters of the Poor: http://littlesistersofthepoor.org/
Carmelite Sisters for the Aged & Infirm: http://www.carmelitesisters.com/
There are also the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus: http://www.carmelitedcj.org/carmelite-sisters

All minister to the aged and infirm. Another group is the Hawthorne Dominicans, who offer hospice care to indigent terminal cancer patients: http://www.hawthorne-dominicans.org/

There are many congregations who minister to the elderly and the infirm for part of their ministry, but this is the principal work of the ones I have named here. Blessings to you.

Hello Cloisters,

I am not sure I was able to find the website to the emerging charism in Covington area. Do you have a direct link? Thank you

Please PM me, and I will give you the foundress’ email address. I don’t have permission to post it to the general public.

Archangel Barachiel please help @elohimrules to see his or her path in life that leads to God.
All of the Archangels, from Your Majestic ruling, hear my, the unworthy slave of God’s plea, and send your loving and kind guidance to whom it may concern. God bless!
Amen
