I’ll be starting RCIA in the fall and I plan on reading some books to learn more about the Catholic Church. I’m reading “Triumph: the Power & Glory of the Catholic Church.” What other books should I read?

The Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Depending on the religious background you are coming from, you will find this book the ‘heart’ of the Catholic Faith. This is what we ARE to believe.

Thanks. I’ll read that after I finish “Triumph.”

You probably already both, but here it goes:

Make sure you have a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I prefer the Green Covered edition since it has the indexes to references to the Bible and other Church Documents.

A Catholic Bible. Most, if not all, Protestant Bibles do not have all the Old Testament books in it.

These two will be the most important books.

I love Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic by David Currie. Awesome book! —KCT

The Lamb’s Supper by Scott Hahn and he’s a convert to Catholicism himself. It’s the best book on the Mass, I’ve ever read. I had a brand new appreciation for every single detail going on at Mass after reading it. It’s just beautiful.

Also, his book, Hail, Holy Queen is fantastic.

I agree Scott Hanhs books are great 👍
The Catechism of the Catholic Church which looks big and scary but it is well written and a great read.
also try your radio station.

Also read Hahn’s Lord, Have Mercy. If more Catholics read it, perhaps the lines for Confession would equal that of the line to receive the Eucharist.

I’m going to second the one “Lambs Supper” by Scott Hahn, also a VERY good one written by Jeff Cavins is “I’m not being Fed” what a great book that was

good luck with RCIA!

Why not give KK’s Catholicism and Fundamentalism a read? It’s a great book.

Here’s a related question: is there a good site to find local Catholic bookstores?
