I know that church teachings do not in any way include reincarnation. But does it specifically teach against it, or is it just silent on the subject? I have always assumed the former, but would like clarification on what exactly it does teach. Thanks.

1013 Death is the end of man’s earthly pilgrimage, of the time of grace and mercy which God offers him so as to work out his earthly life in keeping with the divine plan, and to decide his ultimate destiny. When “the single course of our earthly life” is completed,586 we shall not return to other earthly lives: "It is appointed for men to die once."587 There is no “reincarnation” after death.

The bible clearly states in Hebrews 9:27-28:

“Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment,so also Christ, offered once to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him.”

God Bless.

Not to mention it pretty much defeats the purpose of Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection. Though there is a “Christian” church down the street from me that teaches reincarnation. According to them we keep reincarnating until we are perfect, that’s when Christs sacrifice comes into play and we get to heaven.

Peace and God Bless

Someone should ask them why, if we keep coming back until we are perfect, the anger and aggression in society and the world keeps getting worse?
