Respect, Human Dignity Must Presuppose Any Meaningful Immigration Reform

From the article: Catholic Social Teaching, they pointed out, teaches first, that “persons have a right to find opportunities in their homeland,” second, that “persons have a right to migrate [in order] to support themselves and their families,” third, that “sovereign nations have a right to control their borders,” forth, that “refugees and asylum seekers should be afforded protection,” and lastly, that “the dignity and human rights of undocumented migrants should be respected.”
Does Catholic Social Teaching say anything about obeying the law of a sovereign nation? And if one chooses to disobey that law that he should expect to be punished in accordance with that law and that whining about the punishment it after the fact is just lame?

Is there anything in Catholic Social Teaching that would point to the USA’s system of Law denial of the “dignity and human rights of undocumented migrants” ? Do we have illegal immigrants being apprehended and then mistreated in the US?
