This is probably a silly question, but is it appropriate for a lay person to sign a letter or email or some other communication

or some other similar closing? I’ve seen it before, particulary from my baptist friends who will use “In His Service.” But I have recently exchanged emails with a priest and he signed his emails In Christ, but I felt a little strange doing that in response. Am I being silly? Thanks!

I’m a lay person and I sign almost all my letters:

I think ‘in Christ’ is a great way to sign a letter.

It would be fine to use something like that in reply to the priest.
