Today is the feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. (Tomorrow, that of St. Catherine Laboure). Here is a community named for the MM:

That is interesting - I was recently at a youth conference and someone gave me a Miraculous Medal. I already had one so I gave it to a co-worker. When she heard some history - she was really interested in it. :slight_smile:Canon law and the directives of the congregation will give guidelines.

I’m assuming the last sentence has to do with our emerging charism.

My organization sponsors a support group for founders. We have the directives from canon law and CICLSAL. We have all heard that living the charism is to be done first, to see what works for the group. No bishop can approve an unlived concept.

After all of that has taken place, then the group approaches the bishop. As for my group, we are still finding what works for us, and will present to a bishop at the appropriate time. Before that happens, though, we are concentrating on developing the spirituality and the formation program. The last two days have been solemnities for our group – two days of prayer in anticipation of the beginning of the formation program. Acceptance of new postulants takes place on Nov 29.
