Any ideas? I’m downloading music from itunes to make mix cds for during labor & delivery. And no, they don’t have to be relevant to the subject at hand, just great music. Nothing too mellow, have to stay motivated… 🙂 Well, maybe a mellow song or two, but…anyway…throw me your favorite songs…

Check out Josh Groban’s music for semi-mellow. He is such an awesome singer!

Odd idea. I liked the techno version of “Vater Unser” (Our Father). I didn’t get the name of the artist when I was downloading but, it is awesome. It is like 6 Min. Prayers you can headbang too while haveing children. :hmmm: sorry. I think toooo much. But, anyway. yeah. cheack the song out. It has bells at the beggining and end. So that should be and indcator of if you got the song I am talking about. So peace and good luck with the whole thing. I will throw out a Vater Unser out for you 😛 And maybe a Hail Maria or two.
 
One of my favorites is “Angel from Montgomery” by John Prine.

(Some may not think this is a good song to give birth to but this is one that I had on stand by when I gave birth to my second daughter in our living room. I didn’t make it to the CD player so I ended up singing Angel from Montgomery to my “audience”. I chose songs that inspired me for one reason or another. Some were religious in nature but most were songs that inspired me for personal reasons. I even had a heavy metal band set out because I can never predict what I will be in the mood for. Aside from my performance, I ended up insisting on total silence from everyone. I was the only one that dared make a noise. 😃 )

Not sure if it would work during labor… more like a post-labor song - assuming it’s a girl…

In a similar vein I love ‘Little Ray of Sunshine’ - I think it’s by the Righteous Brothers (or one of them anyways) - the one that goes ‘a little ray of sunshine has come into the world, a little ray of sunshine in the shape of a girl’

And the Mass in C-Minor when I’m in that ‘glory to God’ mood - just beautiful!

I think the song is about her baby when the baby was very young.
