Anyone familiar with the book and/or author here? I find it disturbing that he would say something like this in his book: “We Catholic acknowledge readily, without any shame, nay with pride, that Catholicism cannot be identified simply and wholly with primitive Christianity, nor even with Gospel of Christ, in the same way that the great oak cannot be identified with the tiny accorn.”( The Spirit of Catholicism, p. 2) I thought that was an irresponsible remark, and would be misleading to any non-Catholic and even Catholics as well.
