I went to a catholic store and saw a cross with Mary on it. I know Mary suffered with her son, being the Mother of God, and our mother. But is this a herocy? Somthing just jumped on at me, and now that I think about it, it does sound very wrong.

I don’t like the sound of it. Perhaps call the store and ask about it and why they feel it is a good thing to carry? Did it look like she was being crucified, or what exactly?

  1. If you really just “heard” about it, then it was likely not Mary at all, but rather this:

  1. IF you really saw a feminine figure on the cross, how do you know who it is?

We Catholics have used art in various ways to help express our faith, but this is a stretch in the least! While Our Blessed Mother did share in her Son’s sufferings, she isn’t the direct source of salvation.

On another note, kudos for having a knowledge and guts to question whether or not a heresy has taken place. Not enough Catholics even know what a heresy is…nor do they have the courage to propose the existence of one even if they are knowledgeable. God bless you.

Clement of Alexandria

“’Eat my flesh,’ [Jesus] says, ‘and drink my blood.’ The Lord supplies us with these intimate nutrients, he delivers over his flesh and pours out his blood, and nothing is lacking for the growth of his children” (The Instructor of Children 1:6:43:3 [A.D. 191]).

This may be the same reason or feeling that the respresentation of “Our Lady of All Nations” bothers me…she’s not on the cross as in this case…but certainly in front of it and ‘appearing’ to be on it.
