I think that tithing is a concept of recognizing that all we are and all we have is a Gift from God. We are called to give back all in our time, talent, and treasure to fullfill God’s plan.I believe this may be true in the Catholic Church also.

This is so warped. (Deb, I know these aren’t your words but that of your former Protestant pastor) The Church teaches that all we are and all we have is a gift from God.From Deb1: Our pastor assured us that no one would pressure us to give the tithe or judge us but he urged us to give. There were many speakers at the church who never failed to promise us that God would bless us if we gave our tithe. If we couldn’t afford something then God didn’t want us to have that anyway. God would, they said, provide the neccessities.
EVERY PROTESTANT??? How is this enforced?Every protestant tithe monthly 10% to the church (except those who does not hold full time job)
By the Department of the Evangelical Tithing Police, duh.EVERY PROTESTANT??? How is this enforced?
Really. I know of one church in Ohio who made all members submit their W2’s and then would tell them what their tithing would be. If you could not afford the 10%, you would work for the church at night and on the weekends at minimum wage.By the Department of the Evangelical Tithing Police, duh.
I don’t know which is more funny. The Church asking for the W2’s or the people that actually gave them up.Really. I know, bur the pastor has the members convinced that in order to “be in good standing” they must comply and the church is flurishing.I don’t know which is more funny. The Church asking for the W2’s or the people that actually gave them up.
Do we enforced?? Not body enforced anything , anyone believe in Jesus will automatic tithe and i don’t see a reason why churches have to make regulation to everyone to tithe. If that so, this is not coming from free will…then why do we have to believe in christianity!!!EVERY PROTESTANT??? How is this enforced?
Huh? Strange , sound to me is like by making a regulation to all members to tithe…and not thru believesReally.
