Yes, that sad… because cursive handwritting is more beautiful than just detached handwritting. And it is a gain of time in writting. …

I love reading beautiful cursive handwritting in the archives of XIXth century.

If the teaching go as far as to just use screens and never a paper, it will makes the future adults handicapped in daily later.

Recently, Finland has suppressed mandatory cursive handwritting for children.

We homeschool with Seton. And handwriting is still taught. But as to the premise of the thread, it would seem to me doctors and such have horrid handwriting. It would seem the smartest innovators among us do not posses basic handwriting skills

No doubt smart people had better handwriting before tech. But a quick Google of handwriting samples shows. Einstiens was eh ok. Jobs was eh ok. Gates was horrific, Neil degrassi Tyson bad j.k.Rowling bad. Hawking bad (but come on) etc…

I have heard that doctors have a horrid handwriting because in medical school they have to script very quickly the lessons.

I agree with you with the screens. Since I almost write on the computer, my handwriting has become awfull! it is difficult for me physically to write.
