Hi, I have just made the decision to join the catholic faith from being a protestant all my life. I am intrigued by Marian devotion/thought/dogma. I am sure there are many good books to get to read about this theme, I am also a father and $15 for a book is not in the budget. Thus I am wondering if anyone knows of some good websites that offer a good view on this theme, and even exampes on how to incorporate it into my spiritual life. Something even that would go more in-depth than just explaining what it is…more along the lines of ‘how it works’ 🙂

Thanks for the help.

Here is a link to a classic about the Blessed Mother and devotion to her:

When you’re looking for websites on Marian devotion, a word of caution…some may be from groups that take it too far in which Mary actually precedes Christ in worship. If something looks questionable, please ask the many fine knowledgeable folks here on the forums.

Dorothy’s link is a very good source and reliable. 👍

Have you tried your local library? They more than likely will have what you need, or can get it from another library through the loan system. And, more importantly, it is very low cost if not free.

Welcome to the Catholic Faith!
I am a convert from evangelical protestantism, almost 6 years now.
Adding Marian devotion to my life was one of the best things I ever did.
I highly recommend that you go to www.consecration.com and learn about the Militia of the Immaculata. I made my consecration in 2002 on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Also, find a good catholic library. You can check out lots of books on Our Lady.
Learn about the miracle of Fatima. It is so intriging!
And above all - Add the rosary to your life. It is a great wonderful mystery and life changing.!

Yea my library is a bit lacking in regard to catholic material.

Check the Vatican’s website and search for Blessed Virgin Mary and Rosary. Pope John Paul II wrote an excellent encyclical on the Rosary. Many other documents on devotion to Mary also exist on the website.

Pope Leo XIII also wrote several encyclicals on the rosary. They can be read at the vatican website as well.
