I volunteered to adapt the underrated, Gideon story from the book of Judges chapter 6, for my Old Testament Literature class-- but I’m having a hard time trying to find out more about the geographical location of the time it took place.

For instance, in my footnotes, Gideon was from Ophran, whose location is unknown-- it’s said to be located somewhere in West Jordan-- probably between Beth Shan and Mount Tabor.

I found some photographic references for some of the sites, but what’s really bugging me is finding out where the other sites are located and reference when I start pencilling them in.

Any reference?

Gideon was from the Tribe of Manasseh, which dwelt in a region which is approximately the same as the northern third of the West Bank - between the Sea of Gailiee and the Dead Sea, on the west side of the Jordan River.

I don’t remember if he traveled from this region.
