The Rapture?

This may be a question that I should know the answer to but I just do not…

I recently watched the “Left Behind” movies and enjoyed them to some extent. But I am not at all familiar with the Catholic teaching on such matters as the “rapture” can someone shed a little light?

The Catholic Church teaches that there will be a final trial which “the Church must pass through” before Christ’s second coming (Catechism 675). We will be gathered together with Christ at the second coming (parousia).
