The Strong and the Weak
There is a law that is not in nature, at least not in raw nature, namely, “We who are strong should bear the infirmities of the weak and not please ourselves.” It is here that Christianity makes it most unique and distinctive pronouncement, and gives the supreme example of Divinity dying for the weakness and sinfulness of humanity. The Christian law is not " the survival of the fittest" but " the survival of the unfit."

Prayer
Lord, grant us the grace to help the poor and the weak. Let us use our own strength to help those who suffer. Let not our own health blind us to those in pain. Amen
…and for those who love…how familiar is this law *not *found in raw nature?..those who love know of the outpouring or maybe even emptying of oneself to help someone who is materially or spiritually poor or physically or mentally handicapped.

Beautiful reflection Contemplative. 🙂 The very life I strive, and fail so miserably, to live–to constantly find God in all his “distressing disguises”.

In this stage of my life, I am serving my children. When they are grown, I hope to serve mothers of young children to offer support. If my kids don’t have celibate vocations, that will include my DIL and DHs. I believe that is my call, but if God has another path for me, I will take it.
