I have been given the option of switching schools. My choices are either go to a new Protestant school, stay at my same Protestant school, or go to public school. I want to change to a Catholic school that seems very nice. I haven’t toured, yet I have heard and seen very good reviews about it. My parents don’t want me to go there (primarily my dad). I want to respect heir decisions, yet two people and web reviews say it’s very good. I trust they know what they’re doing, but I want to learn the Catholic Faith more than ever (and, if I’m being honest, my friend is leaving to one of the Protestant schools I could leave to, so I don’t want to stay a year without him at the school I’m currently attending). I want to talk to my dad; I’m too scared to do that because he’s aggravated at my wanting of a 3rd choice.

Hi,
Never mind
What? Why?

Here, we cannot on the forum to suggest you to go against your parents’s decisions.

The best I can suggest is to ask your father for this alternative school if your heart is inclined to, and say why.

You want to go to Catholic school to understand better Catholic faith, isn’t it?

Yet, a Catholic school is not the only place to learn more about Catholic Church if you wish. You can read Catholic documents (such as the Cathechism of the Catholic Church). You can go online for official Catholic ressources.
You can have a look to the local Catholic parish.

Or perhaps you just wish to see Catholics evolve around you to have an idea?
If it is the case, you can search for groups/places were you can met some, such as Catholic activities.
And remerber that Catholics, as any humans beings are not perfects, and don’t reflect all the Church dimensions.

Are you sure that this school ave a real catholic identity? It is not always the case.

Discuss it with your father respectfully. Listen to his point of view. There may be god reasons he doesn’t want to consider this other school.
