Hello fellow Brothers and Sisters,

I am new at posting, so please bear with me. I just wanted to know if anyone here really love God like we all say we do. 😃

If this is true how do you love God? Just a question. šŸ‘

Yeah, whatever. This user has been harassing me for two days now with private messages telling me that I’m being influenced by Satan. Don’t hold your breath if you want a rational discussion…

Where would this conversation be going ex-Catholic who is now a Protestant?

Why don’t you cut to the point, don’t beat around the bush.

Me too. I got one entitled ā€œWhy are you so proud?ā€ which proceded to call me a hypocrite and one who is ā€œbearing false witnessā€ for defending the Church from this person’s heresies. I’ve been contacted by someone else who is being harassed with PM messages by TrustInTheLord. That means there are at least 3 of us.

So, I will take the time to use this thread to reiterate forum rules:

Non-Catholics are welcome to participate but must be respectful of the faith of the Catholics participating on the board.

PRIVATE MESSAGING

  1. *]If you have something to say to an individual member that is not of general interest to the board, use the private messaging system.
*]Inappropriate or harassing private messages are not permitted.

Excuse me but i wasn’t harassing you, I think you got that all wrong. You were making fun of me because i wasn’t a CATHOLIC. I didn’t say you are influence by SATAN, but now i think you are.

Why are you coming to my thread and harass me here. At least i respected you when you were making fun of me in the other thread. All i can say is walk in love. I will pray for you. šŸ˜›

If you say you follow God and his law’s why are you not walking in love? šŸ‘

  1. Like i said EDEN you should read what you wrote. because you and the others were ganging on me. Please i am not here to fight, maybe you are but im not. Obviously you can’t walk in love, that is very difficult for you. I know you are harassing me. By the way we are all hypocrites. You on the other hand can’t follow your own rules.

I actually PM you and the others because i respect all of you and i didn’t want to ruin the thread… But since you think i am doing this to hurt you again you keep breaking God’s commandment. I hope and pray you will finally stop harassing other church. We are all God’s children. God is not going to be pleased if you are destroying all his church. I don’t think the question Why Protestants aren’t Catholic is appropriate. After they tell you why, you go and destroy their beliefs. I am here only to share, but not like you to destroy and convert. If you say you love God you wouldn’t try to break all his church. That goes for all of you. WALK IN LOVE ~ šŸ‘

I love God so much that when He called me to the Catholic Church - I went. I am so thankful that I’m Catholic… I LOVE His Church and I tell him that at every single mass. I pray regularly, I try my best to obey his commands and I tell others about Him. I love God more than anything in this world and I hope that I live my life as a testament to that.

Brother,

I am not angry with you, i can only tell you my feelings towards the RCC, at first i thought i can learn and be closer to God, but i always thought there was something missing. I just found out that the 10 commandments had been changed, and i didn’t agree with the rules of the church, example is to confessing my sins to the priest in order to be forgiven.

All i thought i recieve was false teaching, and i wanted to know more about the Lord Jesus and nothing else. I never read the bible when i was going to RCC, i follow my famliy to church, and that was it.

I can’t say everyone felt the same way, but that is what i felt. So i found out about Protestant teaching, i see that they teach based on the bible. I learned alot about the Lord Jesus and most important is how to love.

Which is the point. I want to reach out to tell all God’s church need to love each other.

Love is a big deal to God you see. Jesus loved God, he did his will. He sacrifice himself to save us from our sins, and through it all he walked in love. No matter what a person beliefs are, noone can truly say what is in their hearts. We are all God’s children from all the different church teachings and worship. God is the only judge. There is no reason for the RCC to be angry at other church or vice-versa. Jesus gave us a commandment which is to love one another.

That is what Jesus taught, and this is why im here to ask you and everyone who has hate towards other church to love God once again.
To love God is to love others even my worst enemies.

And i am still learning how to truly love just like The Lord Jesus did. šŸ‘

I am happy you found God in the Catholic church. I was once a Catholic, but i want to learn more about the Lord Jesus, so i became a Protestant. Every church is different, i realize that there are so many types of worship. Which one is the true God’s church, i have no idea, but all i know is that God will judge our hearts and not the church we are in. I pray you will find peace in The Lord Jesus. Thank you for walking in love. šŸ‘

Trust in the Lord,
I think it’s great that you have developed an appreciation for the Bible. I too love and read the Bible often and it’s been through my study of God’s word that I recognized the Catholic Church as the true ā€œBible basedā€ Church.

When I attended Protestant Bible churches, the Pastor would quote a scripture or two and then talk for an hour about his personal interpretation of the verse. In Sunday school classes, a group of us would discuss part of the Bible and what it meant to ā€œus.ā€ This class was always led by a volunteer who had basically no real theological training - and we’d all chime in with our opinions.

What I love about the Catholic Church is that a large portion of scripture is read at EVERY mass. The entire homily is based on the gospel reading - and it’s not just joe-shmoe’s opinion… my Priest studied for years and had 2,000 years of Church history at his disposal.

Keep studying the Bible & praying. I wouldn’t be a bit suprised if God calls you back home to the Catholic Church. šŸ™‚

Blessings,
CM

I don’t hate non-Catholics, far from it, but given that the Catholic Church existed BEFORE the Bible you love so much was even written and that the Church in fact pretty much set the Canon (contents) of that very same Bible it’s highly likely that they know best how it’s to be interpreted. For that reason if no other I would stick with them.

And I agree that the Catholic Church could emphasise better the importance of good knowledge of the Scriptures. That’s why I stayed, I’ve been studying the Bible on my own and am probably going to join the CATHOLIC Bible Study group that they have in my local parish. I’m sorry if you didn’t have one in yours, but did you ever think maybe God put you there to set one up for them?

I can answer this…I know which is God’s true Church…The one that can trace it’s heritige all the way back to Jesus and the Apostles…the Universal Church…The Catholic Church! TrustInTheLord, you never really knew your faith if you walked away from it for a less complete faith. There is biblical or historical evidence for everything we do and believe.

I didn’t say you are influence by SATAN, but now i think you are.
Compare this to an** exact quote** from one of the messages you sent me…
I don’t expect you to get it, i can see you have been blinded by SATAN, so i will pray for you, that one day you will open your eyes and walk in love.

I completely agree with your message that we need to love eachother, its how you are saying it that people will have problems with it.
I was once a Catholic, but i want to learn more about the Lord Jesus, so i became a Protestant.
Thats condescending and demeaning Trust and you know it. You can express your love of God without taking obvious shots at our Church.
i always thought there was something missing
Another shot
So i found out about Protestant teaching, i see that they teach based on the bible
And another but yet you go on to say:
**There is no reason ** for the RCC to be angry at other church
Come on Trust change your attitude and people won’t ā€œgangā€ up on you or ā€œMake funā€ of you.

God Bless

How do I love God? There isn’t enough room on this forum to give a full desciption. But I’ll give a small sample.

By trying my hardest to keep his commandments.

By sharing the gift of faith God has given me with others as much as I can.

By reading God’s word with my family everynight.

By spending time before the Blessed Sacrament praying, praising and listening to God.

By keeping the Sabbath Holy.

By homeschooling our daughter. By teaching her the faith, something most of my generation of Catholics grew up not knowing or at least not very well.

By having small conversations with God throughout the day.

There are so many ways I try to love God with my all my heart, my mind and my strength.

I was poorly catechised. I didn’t really know or truly embrace my faith until I was adult and studied the Church, the early church fathers, and really looking at the teachings of the church prayerfully and with an open heart and mind.

I have many conversation with non-Catholic Christians. It’s seems former Catholics seem to be the most angry, the most bitter toward the church -at least in my experience. But when questioned further I’ve found in my experience that they really never understood what the church* really* teaches.

I have been to many different Christian churches. Though many time alot of their message is very good, I have always felt an emptiness that I don’t feel at Mass. And to turn away the gift of the Eucharist for nice music and preaching just is unimaginable to me.

I don’t know if your question is genuine or if you’re just baiting people but incase you are sincere Jesus Christ is the center of my life. Our Lord is the first thing on my mind in the morning and the last thing on my mind at night.

I’m sorry you’re experience growing up was not a positive one in the church. The one thing I always pray is for God to lead me in His truth always. Don’t close yourself off to the Catholic faith because of what you think you know. Keep praying to be guided in truth and always seek guidance from the Holy Spirit. You will find the right path.

As I have not responded to your PM, all of my interactions with you have been public. Please do not accuse me of harassing you. I dialogued with you for about 5 minutes in the last two pages of the ā€œProtestants Why are You Not Catholic?ā€ thread several days ago and then got a PM from you last night to which I do not intend to respond. May God bless you on your journey.

Catholic or Protestant, love should be our common denominator. Love is something we must never forget when we teach about Jesus Christ. The one thing that can unite us as brothers and sisters is the love that Jesus talked about. That means love God and love one another… including people who hate you! The latter is so difficult but that’s what we are to do as Christians. Just like the ā€œOur Fatherā€ prayer, ā€œThy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.ā€ We all know there’s only love in the kingdom of Heaven. So, let’s all follow Jesus and ā€œWalk in Loveā€ while we’re here on earth.

Jesus says in John 15:9-17

9 As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.
10 If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
11"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
12 This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
13 No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.
15 I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
16 It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
17 This I command you: love one another.
