Does anyone out there have experience with this show? I am familiar with it, but I was wondering if anyone had seen them do anything that we might consider anti-Catholic?
Thanks.

Kirk Cameron is Rapture believer. He starred in the first movie in the Left Behind series…that in itself speaks of Anti-Catholicism…based on the belief of it’s author Dr. Tim Lahaye.I actually saw a few minutes of this show last night on TBN. (I was flipping back and forth, waiting for The Journey Home to come on a different channel). The show is hosted by actor Kirk Cameron and a few other people. I really felt it was strange. They were doing street evangelization and within a few minutes they had a very shy girl on the street crying and praying. It was very strange for even me, who has been raised Protestant and is in the very earliest stages of RCIA. I’ve heard that they are anti-Catholic in nature but didn’t see it in the 5 minutes I watched last night.
I started watching the intro, but turned it off when the Ten Commandments were wrong. I think these people need to get back to the Jewish roots and find out what the actual Ten Commandments are.Hi there, please click on the link in my signature. They preach the “way the master” did, hence the name. They do not outwardly come out against Catholicism, however lead in what they say that a denomination cannot save you.
I myself, really really enjoy the show.
Hi NotWorthy, are you following me? (we posted almost the same time). You might want to check with “Malachi_A_Serva”. He has this web-site on his signature and can tell you a little about the site. Personally, I think Malachi came to these forums (he’s non-catholic) with a few chips on his shoulder against our Church, and I got the feeling this web-site’s teachings may have had something to do with it.
With that said, I think he’ll now give you a more honest and open view of what to expect on it. Let me know if he does.
Good Luck!

I watch this show allot. From the inferences made, you can tell that they believe the Catholic Church to hold to performing or obtain certain works to save you. That being said, some of their “people” from the street admit to being Catholic and they don’t appear knowledgeable or Christian?..so that inference as well.
I enjoy it because they use the 10 commandments to show people that we need a savior. If we think about it we all have lied, stolen (most), blasphemed (not me but most), and lusted (which Jesus said was adultery of the heart)…so in conclusion…after we think we are “good”…we realize that we are a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart…and in need of a Savior.
Jesus himself said, “why do you call me good, there is only one that is good” (not direct quote)…
Please invite him, I would love to hear his comments.Hola!
This post, along with post #7, if any indication of what the “way of the Master” people believe it’s clear they’re a little misinformed about Catholicism. Maybe Kirk could come here and learn a thing or two.![]()
Hi there, their Statement of Faith is here:malachi
Are the street evangelizers generally from the once saved always saved way of thinking?
I would like to know as much as I can about this group because my future father in law in one of their “street evangelizers” and now is dead set on destroying the Church that “took” his daughter from him.
He has never explained his beliefs, he just attacked mine without clearifying his thoughts on certain matters.
Hi there, I grew up Catholic and understood that for salvation we needed the sacraments of the church, is that incorect? - aside from the “ignorance” part if your not a Catholic.Hola!

Thanks, that is what I was thinking. He wasnt definitive on his beliefs when asked, which makes sense now seeing as you say they will defer to a person’s respective Pastor.Puruse their web site to give you the information you are looking for. They do not post “docterinal” positions as they refer those back to respective Pastors, they just spread the Gospel that one needs Jesus as Savior.
I personally find it interesting that they meet someone on the street, argue with them, get them to come to Jesus, and then leave them standing there: No Bible, No Church, nobody to help them move further along the path. Sounds like a OSAS deal to me.Thanks, that is what I was thinking. Makes me wonder if they are interested in saving souls or if they just want ratings on televison shows.Yes it sure does.
Its funny you say that because he told my fiance, when she asked what he wanted her to do, to stop what she was doing. Stop going to Church, stop believing in Christ altogether, do anything, become Jewish just dont continue going to a Catholic Church.Makes me wonder if they are interested in saving souls or if they just want ratings on televison shows.
