This is just a question for the faithful. We all know that in John 20, it states that “Jesus did and said many other things that are not in this book.” This is one of the reasons that we hold to traditions. My question is, does anybody want to speculate about what else Jesus said and did? Or, is this written somewhere that I do not know about?

Thanks.

No, I do not wish to make any such speculation. The Church does not claim that it can trace any specific teaching or traditiion back to a specific but unrecorded saying or deed of Jesus. That passage is cited instead for the limited but important purpose of supporting the notion that the Bible itself does not claim to be complete, claims in fact the opposite, and therefore presents a logical contradiction to Protestants who say it does.

I agree with jbuck about not speculating about what our Lord did or said. However, there is one saying of Jesus that we know for sure isn’t recorded in the Gospels:
Acts 20:35

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the word of the Lord Jesus, how he said: It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.
