I’m deeply discerning into becoming a missionary, but first I’m trying to find a catholic bible with the complete books for study purposes; I’m currently living in Jacksonville which is a highly protestant city, I’ve tried to find inexpensive Catholic bibles, but all I can find was protestant bibles like KJV or ESV. The parishes near me don’t give them away either. Any solutions?

You can
  • ask for one at the nearest Catholic church (if you’re in Jacksonville, FL, there are at least 2 dozen Catholic churches in the metro area). Some churches have a reading rack where you can take a free Bible, either to keep or to keep for a while and then bring it back.
  • check one out of the library
  • read it online at the Vatican website here (they have it in several languages, this is the English link)

Hi!

Are there any Catholic parishes around where you live? Most parishes can offer free Bibles or contact an agency that would provide one.

You may also write directly to the local dioceses and ask them for a Bible; groups like the Franciscan Friars and the Knights of Columbus might help.

Here’s a site with similar suggestions: (http://peopleof.oureverydaylife.com/can-catholic-bible-8220.html)

If you want a downloadable, I have one on my computer; I also use two on-line sources:

A Catholic source: (https://bibledoctrine.us/1_corinthians/)–the Vatican also has an online bible and the USCCB also has one.

Non-Catholic with Catholic Bibles on-line: (Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+22&version=RSVCE), and (Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+22&version=DRA).

Maran atha!
