Recently, I’ve been digging into the Church Fathers for the first time and I just got to say, “Wow! That’s good stuff.” Can anyone tell me which Church Fathers learned from the twelve, and who did they learn from specifically?

If you obtain a set of Patrology books they will tell you who studied under who. Patrology is the study of the Fathers, who they were and what they wrote.

Polycarp was a disciple of the Apostle John. Ignatius of Antioch was a disciple of Polycarp.

Clement of Rome may have known Peter and/or Paul.

It was said that Peter ordained Clement.

Clement was a desciple of Peter and Paul.

Polycarp was a desciple of John.

Irenaeus was a desciple of Polycarp.

Ignatius o Antioch was a desciple of Peter and John.

I think a previous poster confused Irenaeus and Ignatius.
