An early patron of priests was St. Philomena. In 1961, however, Pope John the 23rd issued a ruling that said there was not enough evidence to prove that this Saint existed. I have studied the info about this saint. She was a very popular saint and Italians named their daughters after her. Much of what we know about her came from “Private Revelation.” Thus, you can see why this ruling was made. St. Philomena pray for us…If you can.
