My favorite is Patrick Madrid. In his debates he has the amazing gift of staying calm and expressing himself in a very clear and understandable way. He always seems to be prepared for whatever comes his way and he is extremely charitable to whoever he is speaking to. 😃

I like Madrid too. Of all the apologists, he simply seems to be humble and concerned with defending Christ. He hardly puts himself out there at all. I would put Dave Armstrong in that category too, though to a lesser degree.

Actually, Akin, Staples, and Ray all fit in there too, along with others. But in any event, Madrid just seems to drip humility, somehow.

Speaking of Apologists, do any of you have any links to some good debates? I have only heard a few since becoming Catholic and am up for hearing some good ones.

Thanks.
Jeanette

I don’t know if Fr. Corapi is an “apologist”, but I think he’s great!

All those who are affiliated with Catholic Answers and EWTN are wonderful, articulate and humble apologists.

My favorite, if I had to choose, would be G.K. Chesterton. The apostle of common sense.

Karl Keating of course!😃
😉 I am sooo glad somebody did some bootlicking to our generous host.👍
My journey to the church wasn’t through the direct works of any Catholic apologist, and having finally obeyed the Holy Spirit and told my family (same theology as James White), now I got some ‘xplainin’ ta do. Hahn’s ministry is primarily to catholics, Shea, I like mainly 'cause of his sense of humour. I don’t know of any from the reformed/calvinistic baptist background, so I have to be the one to translate the truth for family and former fellow seminarians.
I am taking all these recommendations to research and read.
thanks, all you

I like Mark Shea, Fr. Pacwa, and Peter Kreeft not to mention **ALL ** of the above. 😃

From previous centuries, my favorite is Saint Francis de Sales who wrote THE CATHOLIC CONTROVERSY (which I strongly recommend).

In our modern times,
Frank Sheed
Karl Keating
Patrick Madrid
Robert Sungenis.

Love,
Jaypeeto4 (aka Jaypeeto3)
