Why did God create ebola, necrotising Staph aureus, tapeworms, TB etc?

I asked this in another thread, but I feel it should be its own inquiry.

Also, if the flood story is true, how did Noah and his family survive harboring all these diseases in their bodies?

Why did they have to?

Did God command Noah to collect disease organisms two by two or was one of each enough?

Why was it necessary that disease organisms and parasites survive the “purifying” flood? If the intention of the Flood was to rid the earth of evil people, why then do the selectively saved faithful need to continue to host disease? And terrible diseases at that.

Does God love disease organisms and parasites?
If he notices when a sparrow falls, does he give equal notice to the lysing of a Bacillus anthraxis?

Thank you for your (name removed by moderator)ut.

the more we learn about disease organism, bacteria, bugs of all kinds the more we find out that they all have essential roles to play in the ecology of the planet. Termites eat animal waste and eject it to fertilize the soil, bacteria are necessary for all kinds of biological processes, worms churn the soil, all of these feed higher organisms. We humans have discovered only a fraction of the marvels inherent in the created world, and it is only our pride that makes us think we know everything there is, why it exists, its place in the overall design of nature and its purpose.

Puzzleannie is right, I’d also like to add that this is a fallen world. Because of original sin, all sorts of evils were unleashed - this world is not the way God originally made it, and disease is part of that.

That is only true if you take the Book of Genesis as completely literally… Was the entire world actually covered with water including Mount Everest? Remember Moses did not have first hand knowledge of the event. He was writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit utilizing the stories that had been passed down from mouth to mouth.

The Book of Genesis can only be taken as symbolic.

Good example is
Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
If you take the story of Creation literally and say that Adam and Eve were the first man and woman then Adam’s statement is an impossibility. How could Adam have a concept of a mother and father if he and she were the only ones? Unless you want to take Chapter 1 and 2 has sequential events and not as two differing accounts of creation. Then Adam could say that, provided of course he had knowledge of the men and women that were created on day six and that Adam and Even were created at a point in time that beyond the seventh day.

So was the whole world covered with water or was just the KNOWN world covered. God could just have kept the Ark stationary…

Happy pondering.

God blessed Noah on account of his obdience

Genesis 6:22. And Noe did all things which God commanded him. Fecit ergo Noe omnia quae praeceperat illi Deus

God is timeless. Just because our tiny mind cannot comprehend why something is doesn’t mean there isn’t a reason for it. Who is to say God didn’t make Ebola, AIDS, or whatever for some reason we just are not privy to at this time. It might be the link to a medicine we have not designed yet. Not to mention, our lives are just a vapor.

God is perfect. The earth where a blue whale (largest animal) feeds on plankton (very small) is a great mystery. See Job and God’s responses if you want a lesson in humility.

God is love. We see that some of Jesus’ greatest miracles involve leprosy. And curing the sick of this devastating illness shows us the greatness of God’s love for us.

God’s ethics are perfect. If we are to survive, we are to do as Noe and be obdient. How did Jesus answer the rich young ruler if not asking for obdience?

How many of us have heard the question: How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? Who is to say the viruses and bacteria and what else we just have not seen are not those angels?

This is a fun topic. God love you all.

For fun! He thought it would give us all something to talk about. 🙂

Compared with God’s INFINITY, these plagues are minor annoyances.

For us they are pretty terrible… but compared with INFINITY they are small … UNLESS we start to equate ourselves with God… in some way … and we take the annoyances and ourselves too seriously.

So, those plagues … they might be a test to see how we fare under conditions of stress… and how we help one another.

Do we turn toward God …or … away from God?

For the same reason he created lions to eat the antelope and cyotes to eat the rats. To keep mankind’s population in check.

If this really became a serious obstacle for you - you could always deeply pray and ask Him to reveal this to you.

Otherwise give thanks. They give some folks something to study.

Angels of Death? Interesting.

Hello coyote,

This is my personal oppinion.

Many times Jesus warns people of eternal damnation. WARNING! Jesus Does Not Forgive All
Still an incredible number of Christians firmly believe that Jesus “loves” us too much to allow anyone to go to hell.

God warned Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of knowledge or they will certianly die. Satan convinced Eve that she will not die for disobeying God.
NAB GEN 3:1

Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the animals that the LORD God had made. The serpent asked the woman, “Did God really tell you not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?” The woman answered the serpent: "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden; it is only about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden that God said, ‘You shall not eat it or even touch it, lest you die.’" But the serpent said to the woman: "You certainly will not die!.."
I think that after original sin God put natural disasters into the world to remind man that God will allow bad things to happen to man if he refuses to repent. Natural disasters remind us that God does not some how “love” us too much to allow anything bad to happen to us. If one chooses the path to damnation God will allow them to reap what they have sown lest they repent.

**NAB ROM 2:6 **
Or do you presume on his kindness and forebearance? Do you not know that God’s kindness is an invitation to you to repent? In spite of this, your hard and impenitent heart is storing up retribution for that day of wrath when the just judgement of God will be revealed, when he will repay every man for what he has done: eternal life to those who strive for glory, honor, and immortality by patiently doing right; wrath and fury to those who selfishly disobey the truth and obey wickedness. Yes, affliction and anguish will come upon every man who has done evil,
NAB MAT 25:41

Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.’ Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?’ He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.’ And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
