If you agree with me that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.*

Give me a big AMEN!

*John 3:16 (NAS)

Is there some ulterior motive here that we should be concerned about…perhaps something to do with a hidden “faith vs. works” agenda? :ehh: Because, to be honest, this seems like a really odd reason to start a thread…and if you think this is going to prove something, you’re wrong.

AMEN! http://bestsmileys.com/letters1/1.g...1/5.gifhttp://bestsmileys.com/letters1/14.gif

Technically speaking, your poll does not give a BIG amen as an option, so I chose to abstain. Were you to add the necessary option, Id be happy to revote.

AMEN. GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST!

In Christ

Andre.

“shall”?:nope: It’d help if you got the quote right:

3:16. For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting.

or

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

Incidentally, this brings up another problem with Sola Scriptura. Since all Bibles are copies and usually translations, too, Sola Scriptura-ists cannot use them, because that involves something other than the original inspired texts, which have long since disintegrated.

Haha! Ditto to that. We’re all ready to pounce on it if you are…just waiting…

No deception intended. I don’t know first century Greek so I rely on those who do to translate it. So, if you agree with me that

ουτως γαρ ηγαπησεν ο θεος τον κοσμον ωστε τον υιον αυτου τον μονογενη εδωκεν ινα πας ο πιστευων εις αυτον μη αποληται αλλ εχη ζωην αιωνιον

give me a big AMEN!

Hahaha! :rotfl:

A) John 3:16 NAB
For God so loved the world that he gave 7 his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

B) John 3:16 (King James Version)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

C) James 2:19 (New International Version)
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

D) James 2:19 NAB
You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble.

Amen to Choices A through D 🙂
