“I love Mary”.

There is a long history of anti-Catholic sentiment and criticism towards our veneration of Mary the mother of Jesus.

We are often attacked for “worshipping” Mary. History, the bible and Apologetics address this question very well. However; for me there is a simpler answer. It can be summed up in one word, “love.”

When our Protestant friends bring this issue up, I don’t think they realize that we Catholics love Mary. I’ve heard Protestants say a lot of things about Mary, but I don’t think I remember hearing any say “I love Mary”. I’ve heard them say I love Jesus, I love my wife and even I love my car, but not, “I love Mary”.

To understand our relationship with God, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and all the Saints is to understand, love. I’m not ashamed of my love for Mary or to say ‘I love you Mary”.

“I love you Mary, I know that you had free will, as we all do. Thank you for saying yes and bringing the sweet baby Jesus into this world! Amen!
Now see, that wasn’t so hard, was it? Love is a good thing.

Pity some don’t realise when we insult Mary we insult Jesus, after-all Mary was and still is His Mother, the first tabernacle for Jesus to dwell on earth.

What a pity some don’t defend Mary, they way they would defend their own biologicial mother, if someone said a bad thing against our earthly mother’es, I don’t think we would be pleased.

Likewise Jesus is offended when we say bad things about His Mother.

Why do they not say bad things about Saint Joseph after-all some pray to Him ?

I have never during my my journey toward Home had any problems with the doctrine and beliefs about the Blessed Virgin. In fact lately I have become even more in love with her.

I have a Blessed Virgin picture on my fridge right beside the photo of my own mom. When I think of what my mom have done for me and what she is for me I can’t help think of the sacrifice Jesus’ Mom did for Him and us.
 
Mary represents the excesses of grace that God wishes to lavish upon his children.

The one miracle that Mary asked Jesus to perform was one of excess. Picture the wedding feast forshadowing Jesus’ return for us, his church, and his turning water into wine after the people at the wedding feast had drank all the wine.

At Mary’s request the wine will never give out, our cups will runeth over until the return of our Lord. Because as Mary loves Jesus, her son and her savior, so she loves us as her own children.

Jesus, our bridegroom, saves the best wine for last!

Mary’s prayers for us are continually before God’s throne.

I love you Mary!

Thankfully as I’ve been journeying towards Rome, I’ve come to love and respect the Mother of our Savior. How can we all not love her? Her “yes” made salvation come into the world. And also, if we are brothers and sisters in Christ, she is also our mom. It’s rather nice and comforting to know that we have a “mom” in Heaven looking out for us.

congratulations upon taking your journey home to Rome. What you say is so true.
I am a cradle Catholic and yes I have a deep love for my Spiritual Mother who is Mary.
How is it that so many fail to love the Woman who was chosen by God from the beginning of time to be the one who would carry the Messiah in her womb?
How is it that they do not understand precisely what Her fiat meant as far as our salvation is concerned?
Mary was granted special privileges that were not granted to us so that she had a memory of God planted within Her. This is the real meaning of Mary as “full of Grace”. It was God alone who is responsible for these special favours granted to Mary.

Thanks for starting this thread. Yes, I love Mary. I love Her because she is the Mother of my LORD. She is the Mother of Jesus, who is the Christ, the Messiah.

Who or what has the most to gain by the constant denial of Mary’s role in the Church today? The answer is … drum roll… guess.

We as Catholics see Mary in a light which is not shared by our Evangelical Fundamentalist brothers and sisters in Christ. We see Her in all of Her Purity. We understand that from the moment that she was conceived as a thought by God she was given special privileges that brought her closer to God than any other living person in the whole history of the world.

Mary’s Purity made Her attractive to God, and in return God attracted Her for Himself, such that she had no thought to enter into any relationship with Satan. What must be remembered is that because of the Woman, Satan’s hold upon us has been broken.

Oh what a happy day it was on the day of Mary’s fiat.

God gave us a binary system: yes or no. We are to chose life and blessing, or death and cursing. We are either for God or against Him. The Blessed Virgin gave her emphatic FIAT, fulfilling God’s Genesis 3:15 curse upon Lucifer and his seed with the Woman & Seed.

We are deceived by seeing shades of gray where good and evil are distinct. Marx and his minions were active Satanists, as documented from their own words in Rev. The Blessed Virgin is the culmination of holy Jewesses who bring peace through heroic virtue and dramatic, political action.

Is it any wonder that Our Lady of the Rosary’s message at Fatima, Portugal, promised world peace through the divinely-willed veneration of her Immaculate Heart? Can we underestimate the power of purity in vanquishing the Father of Lies and Murder?

Even after decades of deadly depravity by Russia, Catholics seem indifferent to the Blessed Virgin Mary’s warnings about this nation. Catholics are lukewarm about God’s wish that the Bishops, led by Peter, consecrate Russia to her Immaculate Heart at one solemn, public time in all their respective cathedrals. When this is done, she promised to convert Russia, a land still consecrated to Satan. This consecration was given as the “only” means to a period of peace on Earth.

The Blessed Virgin warned that, without the consecration to her Immaculate Heart, Russia would continue to spread her errors, bringing the “annihilation of nations.” This has already come to pass under Russia’s genocidal atheism, and continues to this day. Russia’s “death and cursing” cult marches on, having sold nuclear materials to Iran in May, 2003.

Unleash the power of her purity of heart. By emulation, imitation, and loving obedience to God’s will, venerate the Immacuate Heart.** “Pray the daily Rosary for peace.”**

If I have grown closer to the cross of Jesus at all, it is only because his mother, standing there in perfect purity, has drawn me closer and lifted me up, so that my vision of it is clearer, and my love for it is greater. If I can understand love at all, it is only because of the human love of Jesus and Mary. If I can understand sacrifice, it is first because of the pain of his cross, and second because of the pain of a mother watching her son be crucified.

I have a picture in my room that was taken on orientation day (I go to St. Mary’s University) with my earthly mother one side of me and a statue of my heavenly mother on the other side. When another guy came in my room, he asked if that was my mother. My reply: “Yes, both of them are.”

As St. Pio lay dying, he looked at a picture of his earthly mother, insisting that he saw two mothers, despite another capuchin telling him that he was not well, and was seeing things. When I think of the debt I owe my mother on earth, and how I am so closely connected to her (I was once inside her!), I am even more reminded of the debt I owe my perfect, heavenly mother, and the connection I have to her through the incarnation of Jesus, my brother.

So yes, I love Mary. And I continually pray that my relationship with her will deepen, because I want to know Jesus and his whole family.

Many protestants feel that we make Mary like God. They just don’t realize that she was very special too because she was the Temple for nine months of pregnancy as well as being His mother. I am not ashamed to say that I often talk and confer with her a lot. A devotion to Mary has never served anybody wrong! I love Mary too!
