A friend attended Mass where a young visiting priest was celebrating, and she reported that he basically said to the young men present, “It’s a horrible time to be a priest. Do it anyway and we’ll save the Church.”

I’m very excited about the young priests and religious that God is sending His Church.

Thank you Jesus for sending us new priests. Make them courageous and moral and true to their vows, and bless and guide them, and send us many more.

I was at a church function yesterday and one of the current crop of seminarians stopped by our table to greet the older people sitting there. He was wearing his full black regalia and collar so I thought he was a visiting priest till somebody told me he was a seminarian from the parish, due to be ordained next year. We also just had one ordained this year. I commented that the parish was producing a lot of priests and one of my table mates told me for years there hadn’t been any but the last few years all of a sudden it’s picking up again. Thank God for that.

I think we should remember that “saving the Church” is not just the responsibility of priests–and religious–but of all of us. We are all called by our baptism and confirmation to be active and involved members of Christ’s body.

You are of course correct, but I think you are preaching to the choir here 🙂

Being a priest is something I cannot help out by doing, as the Lord said No. So I rejoice and pray when I see people who can do it, seizing the opportunity.

We must pray for our priests every day. Pray for all priests you know by name before the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Ask God to strengthen, console and comfort them. Ask the Lord to grant them great graces.

His biggest battle with be with the aging “progressives” in whatever parish he’s assigned to—the “Susan from the Parish Council” types.

These young, orthodox priests are in my prayers.
