10 Reasons Why Euthanasia Should Be Legalised

HELP!!!

In NZ we will be facing this in the near future because our Prime Minister is in favour of it.

I want to write a pamphlet that we can distribute to the general (uninformed0 population that will make them THINK. I know, it will be very difficult.

I want it to be tongue-in-cheek. For example:

1. The longer an elderly person is in a Rest Home, the more it “eats up” what the family would otherwise inherit.
2. You won’t have to feel guilty about not visiting more frequently.
3. It will reduce Health Budget costs.
4. It will take the pressure off future Social Security/Pension payments.

I applaud your efforts but irony I don’t think will work on this issue in this way.
Humor is a great way to critise but when it is written it can have the opposite effect.
Pictues I’d say would be the way to go or tapes it communicates the irony better

You have to understand the subject matter. People are much more sensitive about Euthanasia, like Abortion, than dating.

I would go more for bring in the supporters of Euthanasia than the concept.
For example list the ages of members of the Hemlock Society who lived too long and show how hipocritital they are. Put a FACE on the issue.

Because life is a disease that needs to be cured.

Because the Nazis were right - what use do we have for people who are sick, can’t walk, can’t fight, are below average intelligence, don’t have as pure blood as us, etc.? Gas 'em all!

Because they are wasting oxygen that other people need! What are the people in the year 42901 going to breathe if we waste all this oxygen on sick and old people?

Because surely you realise that your worth as a person depends on your level of health and ability - like what do you do with a racehorse that has broken his leg? Shoot him of course! Why should you be any different?

Because it’s needed as part of our country’s negotaiations with Satan, we want to get a good deal on our collective soul.

Because these people could be buried and used as fertiliser to grow our crops which are, after all, more important than human life.

Because people who are sick have this unnatural thing called ‘instinct for survival’ which messes with their heads. We, who are clear thinking and not troubled by those strange thoughts, need to override their decisions to do what we know to be best for them.

Not sure if this is exactly what you wanted, but kinda sums up my feelings on the issue…

How long beofre those crazy ideas going on in NZ cross the Tasman and start infecting us Aussies? We need to put a quarantine on thoughts arriving from NZ so we don’t get any pro-euthanasia people here… they actually tried to introduce it in the Northen Territory but John Howard wouldn’t let it go ahead.

1. Worldwide overpopulation is prevalent.
2. There is a terrible worldwide food shortage.
3. Land is at a premium, and we are running out of room for cemetaries.

But there is a way to solve all these problems at the same time. Ergo:

The old, sick, disabled, unwanted, etc., should be euthanized, and then their bodies processed down into little green wafers for public consumption.

But this is, as I said, a way to catch people’s attention. You would also have to understand that the people of Australasia and their peculiar sense of humour.

Please, please, please, take Nitschke back I beg of you. At least Howard would keep him under control. Here we have Comrade Helen and her coven who are keen on approving legislation.

BTW, thanks Flopfoot and Wolseley, there are some there I can use. I like the compost one, can’t think why I forgot that one. Rosemary Radford Reuther said that we have a duty to compost ourselves.

Wolseley - reminds me of this proposed solution to elminate the problems of hunger, homelessness and obesity in the west all at the same time. Get the hungry to eat the obese, and then the homeless can live in the houses the obese used to occupy.

Solution for Nitschke:
“Hmm I’m not sure if this new euthanasia machine works or not. Can we try it out on you Nitschke?”

Fine, we can’t do that, so send him over here, we’ll declare him to be an illegal immigrant from NZ and put him in one of the detention camps for 20 years till his papers can be cleared.
