This morning, our parish celebrated Las Mananitas from 2 AM - 6 AM. Mariachis sang to the Virgin, there was an hour of adoration with a homily, and many parish groups sang their own songs of praise to individually honor her. I wasn’t able to stay for the whole thing, but it’s a beautiful celebration which gives you the sense that miracles really are possible.

we don’t have midnight Mass here, 5 am mananitas (songs to the Virgin) and procession with the roses to lay before her statue, 6 am Mass, followed by breakfast with mariachis, folk dancers etc. Some parishes have processions that begin in the wee hours of the morning, with the musicians, native dancers etc.
