This is dreadful suffering for a child to undergo…keeping him and his parents, family and friends in prayer. Jesus we trust you and your Compassionate Mercy.

So good to hear how well he has done since the original post - may Patrick continue to heal and recover and peace for his family and friends.

Remission
Its official Patrik is now in remission. The torso & bone scans were clear of rhabdo. The lung had 3 very small spots, too small to operate, and the Professor believes that it is only scarring. Apart from a sore toe Patrik is damn fine. Now we will monitor him for 4 weeks and we will be back for tests then. This will continue for 6 months until the oncs are satisfied that it will not return and then they will stretch the appointments out to 3 month intervals.

The proffesor believes his relapse chance will be 50% however I look at that as 50% not coming back. Thats the way we have approached this journey and we will continue to do so.

Saying we are happy is an understatement however we couldnt have got to this point without the support of this forum and more importantly the people within it.

I hope everybodys day has been full of good news as ours has.

This really something, isn’t it. He had it rough. He has been fighting since Feb. 06. and has had 8 operations. Only the Lord could do this. Tim

week 3
hi everyone, well its week 3 and patrik is struggling. The diarrhoea and vommiting is daily, sometimes hourly and we r finding it hard to put his weight back on. He is down to 36 kilos and falling so I hope we can fix that problem soon. His pain in his torso at times is unbearable. The radiation targets his entire torso so u can imagine the amount he is copping. I think it is around 7 mins of radiation with a 15 minute stay each day. The oncs said if he gets too bad they will stop the chemo. He recieves Vincristine on a monday with irotecan, and irotecan every other weekday, all this before radiation which is usually around an hour after chemo, however he continues with the treatment, i dont know how though!
