Who is in the process of saying the 15 St Bridget prayers or has successfully completed the year of saying them?

What blessing do you think you have gained by saying them?
Thanks for your encouragement.

Hi,

I first started the St. Brigit prayers on 9/22/92, after my wife had a miscarriage and was despairing of having another child (we had one).I completed the prayers on 9/22/93 and my son was born on 9/23/93!

I recited the prayers for a year for each of my children to safeguard them, when they were infants.

I have not recited them for a while and I think I will begin again after responding to this thread.

God Bless

I just finished my year 2 days ago. Praise God about 5 members of your family getting baptized! That’s wonderful and thank God for you son!

God Bless,
Kaily

Thanks for responding with your amazing stories. I am encouraged by your accounts. I am on month 10 of saying them.

I think the devil plays with my mind at times, " what good are they. You have not had anything good happen yet so what is the point of finishing." That is why I needed a bit of encouragement.

.

I finished my 1st year during lent 2003. Two fallen away family members returned in 2003.

I finished my second year during lent 2004. Two family members baptized and confirmed (teenagers RCIA) in 2004.

I just today read about these prayers and am considering saying them, how long (minutes) does it take average to say them? Can they be split up say 5-5-5 morning, noon and night? If I fall into serious sin while in the process do I need to start over again? Thank you and God bless. 😃

Please tell me more info about the St. Briget prayers. What are they - how are they said? Thanks - Kate

I did mine my freshman year of college (3 years ago).

I’m the only person in my family on both sides for generations back who doesn’t have terrible eyesight. I still have 20/20 vision. The Lord revealed to me that this was because he had healed my eyesight because of my year of saying the St. Bridget prayers. It was then that I decided that I needed to pray the St. Bridget prayers. (I hadn’t yet when he revealed that to me.) 😛

I’ve prayed these many times, although I don’t think I have yet managed to get through 365 consecutive days.

I have these prayers in the Pieta Prayer Book, which also has many other wonderful prayers.

Does anyone know the real story regarding the promises made to those who recite the St.Bridget prayers for the year?

I have heard that although the prayers themselves are fine, that the promises are “problematic”. Is this true?

Hi Sprinkles,

I guess I would not focus on the promises listed in the Pieta booket. Think of it as a super great heavenly bonus should they be true. I of course like to believe they are true - thus I say the prayers.

As for Dizzy Daves question regarding spliting them up during the day? There is nothing I have read that says you need to say them all at once. Usually I say the prayer portions in the morning before work and leave the Our Father and Hail Mary’s for a later time in the day. Maybe Adoration, Stations of the Cross, or to say in my car drive to work.

When said all together, they usually take about 20 min. daily.
They are beautiful but a committment. I do believe I have received amazing graces from my first year of saying them daily.

I got so used to working them into my morning prayer time that at the end of my year, I started a new year because I knew I would miss saying them.

Hope this helps - though I am no expert. Just devoted to these prayers.

Josh,
What a cool thing to do in your freshman year of college!!! 👍 I drank beer! 😦 You are a blessed person!!!

God does take care of his flock - and you were wise to listen to Him.

Grace & Peace!

Here’s a link that has them in Latin and English with a warning from the Apostolic See regarding extravagant promises. They are incredibly beautiful prayers.

The rest of the site is a huge compendium of prayers in Latin and in English. It’s really really wonderful.
