Son of a tailor who died when the boy was 12, leaving the family in poverty. Gerard tried to join the Capuchins, but his health prevented it He was accepted as a Redemptorist lay brother serving his congregation as sacristan, gardener, porter, infirmarian, and tailor. Wonder worker.

Thank you for posting this. My wife and I are more than likely expecting again. Thanks be to God!!!

We go to doctor in two weeks.

Is there a special prayer are way to pray to a saint on their feast day that would bring an extra blessing?

I dont know of any particular prayer but others may sight this post and know one. But if you turn to St. Gerard in your own words telling him all that is in your heart and asking for a special blessing - I am totally confident you will not be denied.
I will be keeping you in my own prayers.
Edit: I just accessed the St. Gerard link and came up with this prayer from the site.
Good Saint Gerard, powerful intercessor before the throne of God, wonder-worker of our day, I call upon you and seek your aid. You know that our marriage has not as yet been blessed with a child and how much my husband and I desire this gift. Please present our fervent pleas to the Creator of life from whom all parenthood proceeds and beseech Him to bless us with a child whom we may raise as His child and heir of heaven. Amen.

If perchance you have other children, you could amend the above prayer to ask for another child.

Thank you, this will be our third. The first two weren’t easy on my wife so I’ll be talking to St Gerard alot in the next few months.
 
Many thanks to St. Gerard for his intercession for my last baby.

Unfortunately, my computer crashed and I’m using a friend’s one so I wasn’t able to post it, but the Redemptorists have a special Mass and Proper for the Divine Office for St. Gerard. When I get mine back, I’ll post it (though it will be kind of late, but still)

Thank you so much BT, she delivered a beautiful boy, Kaden Geoffrey, on Oct 16 at about 9:30 PM by c- section. Mum and baby are doing well!
