Anything by Father Lasance is very complete and inspiring. I ran a search for Latin/French missals they have missals in good condition 1942, 1931, and 1956. The search is at Abebooks.com

Is Angelus Press associated with SSPX? However at the FSSP parish I think they were selling them…
Not uncommon. SJC is selling them and yesterday my (diocesan) pastor made an announcement that he has three such handmissals for sale.

Prior to that there had been no real expectation of vernacular liturgy or major changes to the Order of Mass, certainly not in the general public, which included publishers. Publishers, being commercial organizations, and not apparatus of the Church, had no clue before anyone else what was coming. Even through most of 1964, when it was known that reforms would be coming, no one actually knew what those reforms would be.
I have my doubts about that.

It seems the ICEL was able to push its royalty-collecting agenda through despite the 2147 to 4 vote on SC, part of which was to preserve Latin in the liturgy. However, I haven’t found anything copyrighted by the ICEL earlier than 1967. I thought there might have been something earlier.

Yes, but as I clearly stated above, the GENERAL PUBLIC was basically unaware of this. Even many priests, unless they were great readers of liturgical journals, were caught unaware. Publishers could only speculate what was coming; they did not know until texts were released, esepcially in the period 1963-64.

I have a number of Missals from the early 60’s. Several of them have the Order of the Mass in both Latin & Englis, however, the propers are only in English, which I find a disappointment. Anyway, I went and bought an Angelus Press Missal and I really love it.

Beats the heck out of my old 1962 Maryknoll Missal.

Right after the release of Summorum Pontificum, I attended one of those “first in 40 years” Traditional Latin Masses celebrated by a diocesan bishop. There were about 7 or 8 priests or other clergy assisting in choir and they all had brand new Angelus Press hand missals.

Another fun tidbit: Right before Mass, the bishop went to the ambo briefly make an announcement along these lines: “I’m glad you all could make it for the Latin Mass. It will be different than what you are used to. For those of you present who are familar with the Latin Mass, please forgive any mistakes I might make. It has been a long while.”
