I know there are a couple of threads about Mel Gibson’s alleged JPII movie. But there was a movie made in 1984 about Pope John Paul II. It starred Albert Finney (Erin Brokovich) as JPII and Nigel Hawthorne (Madness of King George) as Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski.

Has anyone else seen this movie?

I remember seeing this movie but cannot remember much of it. I think it was shown at night when I saw it and thus fell asleep…also, this happened waaayy before my family purchased a VCR.

We have the tape. It is awesome! We let our kids watch it the night John Paul died. I got all choked up.

I’ll never forget seeing this movie. It was shown on Easter Night. I was so inspired by his life and was praying to God about what direction I should take my life. The house shook. My brother and his girlfriend came out of the tv room and asked me if I felt a crash. They thought a plane crashed near the house. It turned out to be a small earthquake…very rare here in Southeast Pennsylvania! I wondered if God was trying to get my attention somehow!
