If no impure thing will enter the presence of God in Heaven (Revelations 21:27), how was Elijah allowed to enter heaven (2 Kings 2:11) without being immaculately conceived like Mary was? Was he sent to Purgatory first? Or simply waiting to be judged since Christ had not become man and died on the cross yet? Thank you! 🙂

Could be a number of things, including perfect contrition.

The thing you have to understand, any “rule”, like sacraments, God is not bound to, only man is…so if God chooses to allow anyone to enter into his presence, its His say, not ours.

John 21:22 might shed some light on this.
