I just found out on Friday that a good friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer that is quite far advanced. From everything I understand, it will take a miracle to save him. While I know that death is a blessing, I ask you to pray for my friend and his family, for the possibility of his healing, or for the blessing of a happy death.

Jeremy is a very good man, studying to be a Nazarene preacher. (although I have always prayed on my though that he would make an excellent Catholic b/c of his devotion and faithfulness.) He had some tough times in life figuring out his goals, etc, and unsure of his direction. Things were finally starting to go well for this wonderful, caring young man who I love dearly as a friend.

Jeremy knew he was sick, but didn’t know what was wrong. He didn’t have health insurance so he never went to a doctor until he was so sluggish he couldn’t take it anymore. Please don’t get political or take this as such, but please also pray for those in such a situation. It is very unfortunate that he waited. Going sooner could’ve saved his life. He will be treated w/o insurance. I don’t know anything about the money, but this is another difficulty for the family, so please pray!!!

This news has been quite a shock. Please pray for everyone invlolved including his doctors and nurses, and all who love him!!! Thank you!

St. Jude pray for us!!!

If you send his address or e-mail, we can send him well wishes and prayers!

Love & peace,
Bob

Dear friend

I am so very sad and sorry to hear of Jereny’s illness. I will keep him, you, your intentions as outlined in your post, his family and his other friends in my prayers. I’m attending a Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour tonight and will keep him in my prayers there.

May the consolation and fellowship of the Holy Spirit remain with you all

God Bless you and Jeremy and much love and peace to you

Teresa

May God bless him. My wife lost a sister who was just 26 years old to cancer. I’ll bet everyone on these posts has a friend or loved one lost to this terrible illness.

He is in my prayers.

I will be praying for Jeremy and his family and ask St. Peregrine to help too.

I will pray for Jeremy and his family. May God strengthen them and give them peace.

…you got it…

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with with confidence, I fly to you, O virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

God in his mercy send him grace.

“When the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth. Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, there shall it lie.
One who pays heed to the wind will not sow, and one who watches the clouds shall never reap.
Just as you know not how the breath of life fashions the human frame in the mother’s womb, so you know not the work of God which he is accomplishing in the universe.
In the morning sow your seed, and at evening let not your hand be idle; for you know not which of the two will be successful, or whether both alike will turn out well.”
–Ecclesiastes 11: 3-6

Add my prayers to Saint Peregrine Laziosi, the patron of cancer patients. Maybe he wouldn’t be opposed to a medal as a gift.

I will PM Jeremy’s mailing address to those who requested it already and to anyone who PM’s me to request it. I’m sure he would appreciate knowing prayers are being said for him and his family. I remind you that he is not Catholic and that while prayers to our Mother, and our many saints are so appreciated, I’m not sure he would be receptive to them.

Thanks, everyone.

I know what it is like to lose a loved one to cancer. I will add him to my prayers, he and his family as well as you and yours. Have strength, trust in our Lord.

Just wanted to let anyone know who would want to know: I spoke with Jeremy last night and he, at least so far, seems to be doing far better than any prognosis for him ever suggested. As he put it, “Apparently I’m kickin’ cancer’s butt.”

He seems to think that he will make a full recovery. Forever the skeptic, I wonder a bit if he is being a little unrealistic, but then again even if he is, good for him!

He said that he is having such an easy time that he can even drive himself to and from chemo treatments, and that last week he played softball even though he had chemo a few days before. He said he is weak at times, has some serious pain related to his sickness, but overall sounds amazing. He said in the fall he is scheduled to have surgery with the same doctor who worked with Lance Armstrong. He was pretty excited about that.

I’m going to see him Sunday or Monday. Thanks so much for your prayers, and please continue with them. I will let you all know of any other updates. Thank you so much.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jeremy, family and friends.
Thank you, gracious God, for the friends that you have brought into my life. :amen: :blessyou:
