I am thinking about inviting some relatives and friends to a brunch to celebrate my husband and my 25th anniversary. I would also like to ask them to the celebratory Mass held at one of the churches for the silver and golden anniversary recipients. I know for a fact that some have not followed the sacraments; and one is not Catholic; and I was wondering if there was a way to state on the invitations (probably emails or texts) - (very casual); that they should refrain from taking Holy Communion - but could go up to get a blessing. Any suggestions? Thanks

Don’t go there.

It is completely inappropriate to put something like that in an invitation. They are adults, they are responsible for themselves, and Catholics should know whether or not to approach the sacraments.

Agree. Doing so would be exceedingly rude and tacky.
