The area/region I live in has a lot of disturbing occult activity unfortunately. I have heard from traditionalist priests like Father Ripperger that a lot of these occultists and devil worshippers do their activity at or around 3 am. I was wondering, is it okay for lay people to pray rosary with intentions against the evil of these things and people? Or is something like that not safe unless you are a priest with spiritual authority?

Certainly the Rosary will help against evil. You could join and/or say the prayers from Auxillium Christianorum. I have posted the link below. You can download them and print them out as a hard copy. These prayers are free. If you have some spare cash then Father Ripperger has also written a book that I have also linked.

If I’m not mistaken, people aren’t supposed to be using the prayers of that group without the permission of their spiritual director.

My organization has a ministry called the Lay Nocturnal Courtiers (last link below my signature). One member (on our Yahoo group) was housekeeper to a Wiccan. The other had worked with the Warrens in their paranormal ministry. I’ve not heard from either of them in a number of years. The former’s boss got busted for operating an unlicensed cancer curative, then fled to Mexico where she set up shop. The other had lost her job, and was having a problem finding another. She didn’t want to leave town because of the church there, which had a rite resurrected by St John Paul II.

I usually make the Offering of the Pure Heartbeats of Sleep, which includes the conversion of occultists. If I wake up in the night, particularly around 3am, I will pray the St. Michael the Archangel Prayer. I also invoke the Precious Blood of Jesus upon the occult.

Jesus says to pray for our enemies, and to do good to them. They oftentimes have never felt real love, and their souls will respond to the graces we are imploring for them. If we don’t Live+Jesus toward them, we are frauds. Some can be converted only through good example.

Blessings,

Yeah, I tried asking a confessor once if I should join AC. The confessor said out of the blue, “Do you have any questions for me?” and I said, “Am I supposed to have a question?” and he said, “It’s just a free service I offer” so I asked him if I should join the group and he responded, “I have no idea.”

Maybe some priest needs to start a Lucy-type booth, “Spiritual Direction - 5 cents”…

Since then, Fr. Heilman has got his 60,000 person prayer group the US Grace Force saying the prayers every St. Michael’s Lent. I’ve been cranking through them with the group for the second St. Michael’s Lent in a row. No ill effects, safety in numbers.

I would caution that the wording of the prayers on the Auxilium Christianorum website does not seem to have been adjusted for lay people to say. Some of them are addressing the demons directly like priests would. Fr. Heilman reprinted all the prayers on his Roman Catholic Man website for his group and he did adjust the prayers to the proper ones for lay people. I only noticed the difference last week when I happened to have left my phone with the link to Fr. Heilman’s prayer page at home, and pulled up the AC Website with the prayers instead…got part way through the prayer and said, “This isn’t right” and checked when I got home, sure enough there was a difference. So be careful you’re saying the layperson version unless you’re a priest.

Here’s Fr. Heilman’s page with the appropriate layperson prayers for every day of the week.

There should be no harm ever in saying a Rosary or the regular St. Michael prayer.

I have had not had any problems with using the prayers from Auxillium Christianorum and have been saying these prayers for a number of years now. Though I do have a spiritual director, who did not have any disagreements when I first mentioned the AC prayers. The wording is acceptable, yes it address Satan as does the St Micheal Prayer.

While I respect the words of caution, these prayers are very effective in dealing with the issues raised raised by the OP.

@Maxim1982, I would not dismiss these prayers entirely. They do address your issues. If you are in doubt then please speak to your priest or if you have a spiritual director about these prayers.

I figured out my problem with the AC website. If you access it on mobile, the display gives you two sets of identical buttons to push for the prayers in about 6 languages. It’s very easy to get mixed up and hit the button that’s “For Priests” instead of the one that’s “For Laypeople” and I clearly hit the wrong one in my rush. So just make sure you hit the right button. The desktop version does not have that issue.

I would also note the AC prayers are supposed to be done in connection with some other activities such as a daily Rosary, being meek and humble towards neighbors, and avoiding superstition oneself. I suspect this need to avoid superstition may be one reason they suggest talking to a spiritual director who can make sure the person seeking to say the prayers is not the type who sees demons under every bush.

I would think that would be a very good thing to do. I believe that we are in the midst of a raging battle between good and evil and that it is not just the responsibility of the clergy to fight this battle, we the laity must also play our part. Padre Pio described the Rosary as a weapon, so I believe we should pick up our weapon and engage in battle.

Absolutely. God love you for taking up our lady’s weapon in our eternal struggle with the evil one. Just make sure you are in a state of grace for maximum protection.

I would suggest adding a Divine Wounds Chaplet for these evil people as well.

Can’t say I’m in a state of grace at the moment right now. I am at present dealing with a bout of sin that I fight very hard against and I was doing really well, but, as we are weak, and me being the chief sinner out of everybody I know, I am asking God for help. At any rate, I guess I should probably wait until I go to confession.

I was referring to two different people.

The one involved with the Warrens said they were like parents to her, but they eventually had to part ways. Then, after Mr Warrens’ death, Mrs Warrens tilted toward New Age.

The housekeeper to the Wiccan started praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and her attitude toward her boss changed dramatically (more concerned about the boss’ health, etc.). The housekeeper also rose in the middle of the night to pray the Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel. Her boss had bought a kneeler that said “Ave Maria” , then, turned the prie deu into a feeding station for her dog, saying “Sacrilege is so much fun!” Not long after that, the authorities were knocking at her door. I can’t get into too much detail, though. I’ve not heard from either of our group members in a very long time. Please pray for them.
