Today was the day that my hubby finished 5,000 rosaries. It took 10 years. Many were done on the way to and from work. Many Divine Mercy chaplets as well.

I know there are others out there soldiering. Be encouraged!

Well done! I never thought of counting my DMC or Rosaries…

Maybe he knows how often and how many a day he says, and figured out how long it took. 😉

Congratulations! I can’t even be consistent with a decade and I find examples like this in CAF 😳

Was he praying for a specific intention?
Whatever people might have requested of him, and his job situation, but mostly united with the Blessed Mother’s request at Fatima for prayers and sacrifices for the conversion of sinners.

I know one year he got 750 done. I thought it was insanity but he did it. lol He did keep track.

Ave Maria!

When I saw thread title I thought it took 10 years to MAKE 5000 rosaries…
Now I see it’s about praying and not making them.

It is spiritual work of mercy to pray for other people, that is what we are called to.

Why is that insanity? Year has 365/6 days and 750 rosaries is circa 2 per day.
Just to mention that Padre Pio said that he prayed 30-50 rosaries per day. That is alot.
I can’t imagine praying 3 mysteries a day, let alone 30 rosaries. 😯

I agree to that (I myself cannot pray 2 per day) and at the same time I think it isn’t insane because I know people who somehow can, even though they have really full day, with work and many after work tasks. It’s a mystery to me.

He was walking live rosary prayer 😉
Yes, but I suspect he defined saying a rosary differently to other people. He is on film passing the beads through his fingers while speaking to someone. With respect, that may be saying the rosary in one sense, in that part of his mind was saying Hail Marys, but I don’t see how he could simultaneously meditate on the mysteries while carrying on a conversation.

Think about it, even at ten minutes a rosary, (very, very fast) 36 rosaries would take 6 hours.

Yes, I know he is a saint, but i still don’t believe he was a pattern for us to follow in this regard.

I just mention him as example of someone who prayed alot rosaries. Nobody says that we should do the same.

I was thinking sometimes about how could he pray that much rosaries. I know that he used to multitask, pray rosary and do other things (resting, confession). It isn’t unusual, I myself sometimes do something (cleaning, driving etc.) and pray rosary - it is harder to meditate but isn’t wrong.
I believe that rosaries in some languages are shorter than in others even though I never prayed rosary in less than half of hour. His probably took very short, some people pray faster some slower.

Also, I remember from one book that he would pray even half asleep and in other unusual circumstances for prayer. I am not an expert to explain how he could do that but I know that God gave him gift to do all these things for Him and souls.
That is beautiful and fascinating.

I admire your husband’s record-keeping skills! Congratulations to him for his dedication to this prayer.

For those who think, “I could never pray that many Rosaries!”…five thousand Rosaries spread over 3,650 days is 1.4 Rosaries per day. If you pray a daily Rosary and then add in three other Rosaries per week, you’ll hit 5,000.

It’s a ton of Rosaries but no insurmountable if you break it down.
