The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has begun its fifth annual observance of the Fortnight for Freedom to raise awareness of threats to religious liberty. This year’s theme is “witnesses to freedom.”
The cause of religious liberty is a great catalyst for conversion to Catholicism. This was true in G.K. Chesterton’s life, for instance. He joined the Church because they were fighting for the family, free citizens, and basic decency/morality under attack. Perhaps I am making a selfish cause here for purchasing more of his audio tapes. Happy Fortnight for Freedom.
Movements like this are like the larger Tea Party movement. We are going against federal tyranny and the leftist agenda. We will cling to our Bibles and our rights.
