You cannot ever relate plate tectonic activity to global warming.

Do you understand anything about plate tectonics?

Here in Southern California, we used to speak of “shake and bake,” after a few earthquakes happened during extra warm weather. It was a coincidence, but people tend to look for patterns and try to make connections to explain such things.

Praying for those adversely affected by the volcano and seismic activity in Hawaii.

What a strange comment. May I suggest a few more:
  • Probably not caused by Vatican II
  • Probably not caused by chocolate chip cookies
  • Probably not caused by the price of tea in China
Was there anything else you wanted to discuss about the volcanic activity in Hawaii?

Volcanoes are closely connected to climate, but it’s the other way around; volcanoes lead to warming, and thank God for that. If we didn’t have tectonic/volcanic activity, the earth would have frozen over long ago (hundreds of millions of years ago) and we wouldn’t be here to wonder about it.

i think if i lived on the big island, i would move in with family on the mainland until this was over.
