I always feel a little weird about the job interview or meeting the royal family analogies. I wear a suit to a job interview, or at least a dress with a suit jacket. If I were meeting the royal family, I would presumably be wearing an evening gown. I’d consider both of those inappropriate to wear to Mass. It’s just not the right occasion - it would be too showy.
Still, I think style advice can be useful for a lot of women. A stylist can be a bit expensive though. For women looking for modest clothing, I recommend looking at style websites that are aimed
towards career women. Some stores that cater to the same group may also offer assistance in picking out clothes for your shape. But that’s the biggest market generally for women who want to look nice without being overly sexualized.
A lot of it’s figuring out your body type. I do think we ought to reclaim the idea that a woman can be beautiful and enjoy her clothing without having to be sexed up - and that modesty doesn’t require women to wear unflattering clothing. I’d hate the linked, style, of course, but that’s just me. White is so not my color. Swap that crisp white buttondown out for burgundy and we’ll be talking, assuming the stupid thing actually buttons.
