9 years is a long time for a Kindle battery to keep working! Amazon has a good program where they give you credit toward a new device when you trade in your old one.

If you watch for a sale, a basic Kindle is probably close to an official battery. If you are handy and can replace it yourself, you could cut the cost by probably half.

If the device is 9 years old, I’m guessing this would be a device that is an older model. They have come a long way in 9 years, I doubt the parts are interchangeable.
