90 minutes in heaven movie?

I saw this last night, I was disappointed, not until the last 15 minutes of the movie did he even tell anyone he had been to heaven and explained the things he saw, no one even mentioned his being clinically dead for so long and wondering if he had experienced anything strange…??

The movie was 2 hours long total, 1 hour 45 minutes was all watching him have the accident and his struggles healing, I was assuming he would be discussing his experience all thru out the movie and tell anyone that would listen.

This movie is based on the book by Don Piper.A Protestant minister who was pronounced dead for ninety minutes,then came back to life.I read the book several years ago,haven’t seen the movie.

In ninety minutes of death, there should have been a lot more “heavenly” content. Instead, we see ninety minutes of his financial woes and almost nothing of the title experience.

“Heaven is for Real” did much the same. What is it with Hollywood and familial financial crises?

I agree, movies are always disappointing when they try to capture these kind of events. I prefer reading the books. I actually got to meet Don Piper a good many years ago when the book came out. Even then his descriptions of heaven seemed sketchy but i seem to remember his emphasis was on how important it seemed that there be people there to welcome you, which would be those you influenced for Christ on earth.

There are tons of acounts of heavenly experiences on YouTube. Some died while others didn’t. Not all the stories line up. I wondered about this for a while. Kat Kerr gave an explanation that seems plausible. She claims that Satan has set up a false heaven and a false hell to confuse people. They can have a real spiritual experience yet be decieved. So you must be careful. The devil is very slick.

And really, he was not actually in heaven, just right outside the gates, Im surprised this was made into a movie, Ive read some much more indepth NDEs involving Heaven.
