I fell into this while doing some research on purgatory.

Protestant Jerry Walls shows why CS Lewis believed in purgatory, and why this doctrine is integral to, and naturally follows from, his understanding of “mere Christianity.” October 25, 2012

It’s certainly not 100% Catholic, but a lot closer than typical Protestant thinking.
It’s kind of lovely, listening to the Baptists asking honest questions about purgatory.

A quick Google search revealed that Jerry Walls actually wrote an article on this topic in First Things in 2002. Interesting read: firstthings.com/article/2002/04/purgatory-for-everyone
 
Blast from the past. That’s my old alma mater. I really liked those assemblies and this one looks like one I would like.
