Can anyone reccomend a book on Our Lady of Garabandal?

To my knowledge the Church has never approved approved this private revelation. The Church has of course encouraged those who receive the sacrament of Confession there, and everywhere else. Masses offered here are a supernatural encounter, but not more so than in your parish church.

If God touches your heart when you are here, or in Burger King for that matter, that can be a real spiritual experience. That has nothing to do with approving this private revelation. The fact that saints apparently liked it also does not approve it. I am sure the saints would say public revelation is far more important than even approved private revelation.

Reading the sensational quotes about priests, bishops, cardinals on the road to perdition, does nothing for your own spiritual welfare. It would be far better to focus on public revelation. The most common abuse of private revelation today, both approved and unapproved, is for laity to use them for focusing on alleged evils and faults of the clergy and hierarchy.

The OP was only asking for a book recommendation. There is a rule against posting material FROM unapproved revelations, but asking for book suggestion is not the same thing as posting “Mary said (insert controversial statement here)”.

I am a little concerned about this topic now. My pastor is very orthodox, and for the first few years in our parish was citing doctrinal content from public revelation constantly, in sermons and parish bulletin. This was refreshing to me, since other pastors I had avoided doctrinal content.

During 2013 he began to change…I won’t speculate on the reason why 2013…

Now he brings in private revelations to half his sermons and details in parish bulletins. Last week he cited Garabandal, this week he cited Akita (Japan, 1973). He constantly refers to Mary’s warnings about “priest against priest, bishop against bishop, cardinal against cardinal”; and that the cause of the true Faith needs to be defended…even against opponents in the Church.

I think his heart is in the right place, and I share his frustration with the ambiguity and lack of doctrinal clarity often perceived in the Church. But I don’t know that private revelation is the solution, when it is public revelation that is much more under siege by the secular world.

Deacon Jeff, with all due respect, no material from this revelation has been posted here. I simply asked for a book recommendation.

But thanks for the explanations in your previous posts on here. So if I read any recommended books I will do so with a very large degree of scepticism
