Great powers comes great responsibilty…

As a baptized Catholic (babe born of Catholic parents), I realized only now that I am an adult that indeed I’m privileged & blessed to be a Catholic 'coz I received the sacraments including the Eucharist many times. I ask myself sometimes, why am I not born as a muslim or a buddist, or a protestant or a baptist, etc. I did not chose to be one & yet God chose me to be one eventhough I am unworthy 'coz I am reluctant sometimes if not oftentimes & it would mean sending me for a mission by the witnessing of my life as touched by the great love of Jesus even in my small, little ways. It seemed simple but a great responsibility indeed but He promised that He will be with us always.

I find it hard to fathom sometimes how insane a privilege it is to be born into a Catholic family. To have the faith and the sacraments growing up is a wonderful gift. I am never grateful enough to God for it but I hope to live the life He wants for me. May His will be done.

… it reminds me of the song stubborn love by Kathy Troccoli

I hadn’t heard of that song before, but just looked it up. I definitely agree stubborn love is a very good description of God’s love. And also it’s a good song 🙂

Well said. Our commission as Catholic is often made bare at the end of the mass when the priest dismisses us with, “Go in peace, to love and serve the Lord.”

As we go out into the world, we must be aware that now we are in communion with Jesus, that he is in flesh and blood being one and asssimilated in us. We go into the world, not us anymore, but the face of Jesus. It is in Jesus that we love and serve the least of his brethren.

And so many of us abandon Him with only a slight test of faith.
