No, you do not get an “Amen!”. You get “ Pure Hogwash”.Can I get a AMEN!?
You are so right! As a gay Catholic I believe my freedom is being violated by churches who do not accept my way of life and because they do not accept who I am they refuse to let me have full freedom as every one who is straight has the freedom to marry. We are second class citizens.
Out of curiosity, what exactly is there about marriage that appeals to you? What would you want out of it? There are already legal documents that could provide some of what you are looking for (a will or power of attorney, for example). Can I get a AMEN!?

Remember the old cartoons characterizing marriage as the old “ball and chain”? Some people feel trapped in their marriages, others endure emotional or physical abuse, a large number end up in divorce. Some families have problems providing for their children. Marriage can be extremely beautiful, but too many people think the Disney version is what they will get. Unfortunately for a lot of people marriage is not a lot of fun. So what exactly do you see in it that you want?
This has GOT to be trolling. Can I get a AMEN!?

Unfortunately this is the reality for too many people.
on that dreary note…
I think without intention you have just framed an excellent advertising campaign to discourage homosexual “marriage.” (On the grounds of incomparable misery.) :frighten:
Here is the secret to being happy in your marriage: Don’t make your goal in marriage to be “happy”. Chasing happiness or fun is a fleeting goal that will always jump back out of your reach every time you try and grab it. Instead make your goal serving God, and you will be surprised when without even running after it peace and happiness comes your way.Unfortunately this is the reality for too many people.
That sums up the key to happiness in every aspect of life - not just marriage. Seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will given. That is the only way to true and lasting joy and peace. Here is the secret to being happy in your marriage: Don’t make your goal in marriage to be “happy”. I agree 100% with both of you here. Just to clarify, my marriage is fine. Unfortunately IThat sums up the key to happiness in every aspect of life - not just marriage. Seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will given. That is the only way to true and lasting joy and peace.
Eugenius,Unfortunately I
see some of the… conditions I described above in my neighborhood and workplace.
