Would you keep a crucifix or other Catholic image publicly visible in your business?

Depends. Wouldn’t see a problem on my desk in my office but I wouldn’t in the waiting room.

Yes. Even at work, which isn’t my business, I keep a small crucifix on the wall at my desk. If I had my own business, I would fill the walls with as many Catholic images as I could. 🙂

My entire office is an image to the public. I renovated an old Church.

I have an open Bible on a stand in the waiting room, prayers on the walls. A huge footprints poem on one wall right beside the front desk.

One of my favorites is a statue of St. Joseph, the Carpenter, high on a shelf in the waiting room. I do a lot of woodworking and a patient gave him to me as a present.

Been at this location for 14 years, have had 1000’s of compliments and never had one complaint.

God Bless

Sounds like you have a beautiful office space. You’re so lucky.

At the university, we can place whatever we wish on our doors and walls. A few of my professors have icons outside their doors, atop shelves, and one has a statue of Christ in his office.

Got 'em everywhere! Of course I work in a Catholic School! 😀

I am in preparation to start a small farm, which I intend to turn from more of a homestead into more of a small family business, and hopefully someday a medium-ish business with paid employees. The plan is to make it somewhat open to the public, kind of a “teaching farm”, with visitors coming by on specific days with their families to learn about certain agricultural practices and animal husbandry.

So, I’ve given this a lot of thought. It’s my intention to, among other things, have some prayers and scripture in places of prominence in my farmhouse and other structures (barns, etc.). These are really for me, to be reminded of God’s gifts and my responsibility over the land and the living things on it. I’ve also thought about having the Stations of the Cross in a garden or someplace on the property, for my own family’s use. Obviously, with people coming through sometimes, and eventually with some employees, I imagine this could be something people notice and comment on.

I’m not somebody who really throws his religion in other people’s faces all the time. I largely consider religion to be a personal matter, so I’m still a bit uncomfortable about people seeing it. I don’t really have a good answer, except I figure it’s my land, my home, and I can do whatever I want, and I just hope anyone who sees it is at least respectful if not pleasantly surprised by it. I don’t want people to think I’m a nut, or I’m preaching at them, but it is a part of my life and a part of how I view the work on the farm and I’ll make no apology for it.

I like that idea! I don’t know how practical it would be though. At least I could see doing a family scripture reading on Christmas Eve in the barn among the animals. The smells of hay and stuff would only add to the experience.

An Evangelical horse farm/ summer camp near me does it, and it does pretty well… doing hayrides and having kind of stations of the Cross, except with the Nativity story

I know of a few successful businesses that display the sacred heart of Jesus image.

Sure! These days almost everyone is moving away from Christianity, it’s a way of evangelizing to others. Saint Francis of Assisi use to walk around the square in his town and the other monks would ask when are we going to spread the word he said we are. God bless!

I have a small crucifix hanging from the rear view mirror of my police car.
